There’s a new king of the mountain in the 3A, Division II rankings as a part of the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football state high school football poll.
Troup, coached by Sam Wells, moves up a spot to the number one team in the state in 3A-DII, the smaller 3A by enrollment.
Also in rankings news involving teams in the ETBlitz.com coverage area, Kilgore slipped three spots to seventh in the 4A-DI rankings after losing to Pleasant Grove in Texarkana to open the season last week.
Gilmer dropped out of the 4A-DII poll after a season-opening loss at another ETB area program, Pine Tree, last Thursday.
Carthage, of course, is still number one in 4A-DII.
