KC REMAINS FIFTH | Rangers beat Navarro, but still ranked fifth in latest national poll
Kilgore College remains ranked fifth in the latest NJCAA national poll, in spite of its win over a top-10 program on the road last Saturday.
Coach Willie Gooden’s Rangers are 3-0 and the only program in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference with an unbeaten record. KC has another big game this Saturday, facing conference rival Cisco at 3 p.m. here at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.
Ranked in front of the Rangers at No. 1 is Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, also at 3-0; Iowa Western, with a 3-1 record, but that “1” is a one-point loss to Hutchinson; Snow College (Utah) at number three; and Mississippi Gulf Coast (4-0) at number four. Gulf Coast allowed 36 points to a winless Southwest Mississippi program last Thursday, but still remains ranked fourth.
