Nelson won his third Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Boys Player of the Week, a record, as he's setting all kinds of records this year. Nelson is headed to the state track meet in both the shot and the discus. He's joined this week by Tatum golfer Hannah Marcott (below, with her teammates). Hannah was the low scorer for the Eagles, who qualified for the Class 3A state golf tournament at ShadowGlen Golf Club on May 6-7 in Manor. Kilgore High School senior soccer standout Diego Rojas (above, 9) was named the most valuable player of District 15-4A, as a part of the all-district team, voted on by the district's coaches recently. Below: Leo Yzaguirre, voted as co-utility player of the year. Yzaguirre and teammate Jose Vasquez, also a member of the all-district team, were also voted as members of the UIL State All-Tournament Team by members of the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches during the Bulldogs' state tournament run.
