NEW LONDON – The West Rusk Raiders got their baseball season off to a good start with a 10-0 shutout win over the visiting Gladewater Bears on Monday night.
West Rusk won with 13 hits.
Jase Reasoner had three hits in his four at-bats.. Kullin Tavarez won the game on the mound for the Raiders, with a no-hitter – Tavarez allowed no hits, no runs, struck out two batters and walked none.
Also, the Raiders won the junior varsity game, 2-0.
The Raiders, coached by Tyler Wilbanks, will play in the Rusk Tournament this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
