WHITE OAK IS KILLIN’ IT | Ludlow accounts for SEVEN TDs, McClain over 200 yards receiving in 63-13 win at Quitman
QUITMAN – Right now, White Oak is playing football like a 19-year-old that has mastered the latest edition of the “Madden” video game franchise.
And the numbers bear that out.
The Roughnecks moved to 3-0 Thursday night here in Quitman, and the closest the game ever was, was at the coin toss. White Oak scored 28 first-half points, and then to one-up that, the ‘Necks scored 28 – in the third quarter, and cruised to a 63-13 win.
In three games, White Oak has outscored its opponents 151-46.
Quarterback Jaxsen Ludlow, a senior who has already won a Whataburger / ETBlitz boys Player of the Week award this season, put his name in the hat for another: 13-of-15 for 326 yards and five touchdowns, and then for good measure, he ran for 103 yards on just five carries – that’s 20 freakin’ yards a carry – and scored twice.
Younger brother Tucker Ludlow then came on, and went 4-of-6 for 128 yards, another touchdown, and an interception.
Levi Sipes also ran for right at 100 yards (99) and a score.
Now, let’s talk about what Tysen McClain did. Not many receivers in the ETBlitz coverage area – or in Texas, for that matter – can say that had over 200 yards receiving in a game. McClain can now. He caught five passes for 202 yards and four of those touchdowns.
Logan Ladwig had three catches for 95 yards and caught the other two TD passes. Tyson McKinney had three catches for 77, Cal Jester, four for 56, and Jaxsen Ludlow – who moved to receiver when Tucker came in at QB, had two catches for 24 yards.
Brady Prazak, the ‘Necks’ kicker, got in on the act: 9-for-9 in extra point kicks.
Defensive numbers weren’t immediately available this morning, but we’ll add those when we have them.
The Roughnecks (3-0) will host Queen City next Friday night.
