WE’RE BACK | ETBlitz.com is full steam ahead again; let’s GO

Well, we’re back.

Some of you, our regulars, may have noticed we’ve been AWOL for a few weeks.

One of us – well, me – has had some minor health issues. It’s been nothing serious, but it was serious enough, detrimental enough, that it kept me from updating ETBlitz.com for a good little while, about the last six or so weeks.

In that time, we missed the basketball playoffs. Soccer concluded for our East Texas-area teams. Baseball and softball are approaching the postseason, and track is already in it.

I feel a little bit like Rip Van Winkle.

But I’m back.

I’m sorry that things out of my control forced me to pull back for a bit. I know that I have folks here that will have my back and we’ll get through it.

But enough talk. Let’s get back to doing what we do: covering the kids, covering our communities, and letting you guys guide that coverage.

We’ve never had a paywall and we never will. I want to reiterate that. Log on to ETBlitz.com and you’ll see what we see, and you won’t have a $8.99-a-month subscription.

Over the next few days, when you log on to ETB, you’ll see things changing. The old content will go away, as quickly as we can, and the new content will come up. We may go back and re-visit what we missed. And as always, if you know of something happening, LET US KNOW! We do have our ears to the ground on local sports and sports-related things, but it never hurts to make sure we know something.

I said when this site launched in fall, 2023 that we were going to have the best site possible for fans in the East Texas region, that we were going to make it free for them to read, that we were going to support our advertisers and we were all going to have fun.

It hasn’t been much fun for some of us here in 2026.

We’re getting it back. And we’ll be better than ever. I give my word.

Now, it’s not going to be overnight. I’ve got work to do.

But if you know me, you know things will look brand new in no time.

We experimented with different colors and a different look, a relaunching, or a re-brand, if you will.

We decided the site didn’t need a new look: it needs new stories, new photos, and that’s what we’re doing.

One more thing: an invitation.
