7-on-7 in College Station

Kilgore’s journey into the Texas State 7-on-7 (Football) Tournament continues this morning, as the Bulldogs were to open bracket play at 8:45 a.m. on field 4A at Veterans Park in College Station against Columbia.

Kilgore is in Division II; that’s the realm of teams that would normally compete in UIL classifications 3A and 4A. And yes, they can run into Chapel Hill, if both teams remain in the tournament. It’s single elimination.

Rather than our regular Wake Up!, I thought you guys might enjoy some shots from day one of the state tournament by Alex Nabor, who made the trip with myself and Joe Hale down here to College Station to see Kilgore’s run. These photos are from pool-play games against Austin LBJ (in purple) and against Bay City (in blue and white).

Playing for Kilgore this year are Isaiah Watters, Ja’Kalen Sheffield, Brayden Williams, Dre’ Sanders, Devin Tinney , JT Johnigan,T.K. White, Kayson Brooks, Rayshawn Williams, Deandre Thurman, David McGowan, LaKeyleon Graves, Blade Chitwood, Keifer Hunter, Kaeson Clayton, Tre’ Hutchinson, Zerele Hall), Braddox Johnson, Travis Holmes, and Quavian Mumphrey. Cade Pippen is coaching. And I hope we haven’t left anyone off. If so, it was inadvertent.
