REMATCH SET! | Tatum-Gunter agree to a SINGLE GAME Wednesday at DBU
This is really one of those times that, if we actually PRINTED a product, someone might have shouted, “Stop the press!”
The trendy thing in the University Interscholastic League baseball and softball playoffs these days is to do a best-of-three series. So many things can happen, why chance a one-game playoff?
But that’s exactly what it’ll be between Tatum and Gunter in the UIL Class 3A Baseball Regional Semifinals, a rematch of last year between the two.
The game will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Dallas Baptist University, and Tatum is the home team, confirmed by Tatum school officials to ETBlitz.com, and to ETBlitz.com writer Joe Hale by Tatum coach Dustin Russell.
Tatum (22-9) comes off a 7-4 win over West Rusk Friday night (TATUM BACK TO REGIONAL SEMIS | “Cargo” gets grand slam, Anthony a complete game in win over WR; Eagles advance, await opponent (etblitz.com)) to close out the regional semifinals (the third round series) in Brook Hill, and Gunter (34-0) swept Edgewood to advance.
We’ll have more on Tatum baseball all week here on the site, and a preview of the game as it gets closer.
