NEW ETBLITZ WEEKLY AWARDS! | Dancer, cheerleader, band performer of the week to be awarded!

ETBlitz.com will now present a Band Performer of the Week Award, a Dancer of the Week Award (drill teams), and a Cheerleader of the Week Award this football season. We don’t throw the word “great” around here very much.

We don’t like to throw the word “big” around here too much, either, unless something is actually, well, you know – big.

And we think this is pretty big.

Last year – and again this year – ETBlitz.com teamed with Whataburger, one of our ad partners, on our Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week Awards for a girl and a boy athlete each week of the 2023-2024 school year. And we’re proud to say that tradition will continue this year. We’ll have more on that next week.

But we have something else to announce today, and we think it’s also fairly exciting.

Friday night football has a lot of elements – the game is the most important thing, and it’s the centerpiece of the night. But there’s the travel, the time with family, the friendships, the meals at Whataburger afterward – getting there and getting home sometimes really IS a lot of the fun.

And what would Friday night be without the band? The drill teams? The twirlers? The halftime shows? The cheerleaders, and their routines throughout the game?

Ever been to games like that?

We have, and it was called COVID.

It was horrible.

We don’t want to go through that ever, ever again.

We want to CELEBRATE high school and junior college football like we like it, like we love it. Like YOU love it.

So, not only are we again partnering up with Whataburger for the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week Award, which will begin later this month, but we’re also introducing three new awards that will begin this fall:

  • The Band Performer of the Week Award
  • The Cheerleader of the Week Award
  • Dancer of the Week Award

And they’re exactly what they say: performances by members of bands or twirlers, drill team dancers, or cheerleaders in our area that were phenomenal, and deserve to be recognized by the ETBlitz.com family.

Again, the schools in the ETBlitz.com coverage area, in alphabetical order, are Arp, Gilmer, Gladewater, Henderson, Kilgore, Leverett’s Chapel, Overton, Sabine, Tatum, Troup, West Rusk, and White Oak, and of course, Kilgore College.

The winners each week will be chosen from nominations we receive from area drill team directors, band directors, and cheer sponsors, sent directly to this e-mail: mlucas@etblitz.com.

We do need a sponsor. And at ETBlitz, we have no secrets from the public. Here’s the pricing.

To sponsor one of the awards for the entire season, it’s $1,200, from August through December, through the entire football season we’ll give these out. So each of them are $1,200. But if one business wants to sponsor all three, we would partner with them to sponsor all three for $3,000, for August, September, October, November and December — the entire high school football season, every single game — for $3,000, your name or your business name on all three awards.

If you have a business and would like to sponsor any of the three awards, contact Mitch Lucas at that e-mail, mlucas@etblitz.com, or e-mail ads@etblitz.com.

The Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week Awards are announced every Tuesday, so we’ll announce the Dancer of the Week, the Band Performer of the Week, and the Cheerleader of the Week Awards all on Wednesday.

We are days now – not weeks, but days – away from kicking this whole thing off. And we may even have a few more announcements to come!

We’ve got one question for you.

Are you ready?
