ETB POWER PICKS, WEEK TWO! | Standings after one week, and then this week’s games — harder than it looks!

It’s the 32nd annual Power Picks.

Now, it’s shifted over the years, depending on where I was. For the first few years, it was at The Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Mississippi. Then it was at The Vicksburg Post (Vicksburg, Mississippi) and at The Meridian Star (in I-20 city Meridian, Mississippi).

The picks relocated with me to Kilgore, Texas, to the Kilgore News Herald, for the 2002 season and remained there, with me, until 2023.

ETBlitz.com launched in fall, 2023, and we’ve done them here ever since.

Keep in mind, guys: this is JUST FOR FUN. We don’t bet on these (now I can’t help what YOU do in your own home, but I hope you’re not betting on what we say!) and we don’t have an agenda. We don’t pick for or against teams because we don’t “like” them, or etcetera. We do our best to pick who will win each game. There’s an odd number of games — 21 — because we don’t want to have people going 8-8, or 10-10, and so on.

You can see our panel above, and here are the standings after just one week of picks.

And here’s how our “pickers” see the outcomes. I need a better word than “pickers” or “prognosticators.” Why don’t one of y’all think of a better one?

Send your ideas to me at mlucas@etblitz.com.

If you submit a name, and it’s not stupid and we pick it, there’s a prize with your name on it coming from ETBlitz.com.

On to the picks.
