CRIMBER TO THE TOP | Decatur’s own John Crimber leads PBR World Finals in Fort Worth with one night to go

FORT WORTH – The Dickies Arena was rockin’ here on Friday night for round six of the PBR world finals – the cowboys continued their competition for the gold buckle and that $1,000,000 bonus.
After the first five rounds, there are still three with a real shot at taking home the title. John Crimber, the 20-year-old Texan, still holds the lead with 984.50 points, despite not being able to cover a bull in the first five rounds. In second is the Australian, Brady Fielder, with 866 points. Fielder was the only one of the top three to ride last night.
Rounding out the top contenders is seven-time PRCA world champ Sage Steele Kimzey, with 805 points.
In the first section of Friday night, Michael Lane opened things with a 88.05 ride on XIT Socks In A Box. Trace Redd put up 86.40 on Constant Payne to end the section. In section two, Bob Mitchell started off with 87.75 on Cowboy Channel Bar’s Landman – that would be the only ride in the second section. Section three opened with a bang as Macaulie Leather would take Black Eyes for 88.55. Dalton Kasel followed by putting up 88.55 on Big Mac, and then Cassio Dias got on Tulsa Time for 89.65. Alex Cerqueira would end section three with 89.05 on top of of Bex Red Eye.
Section Four opened with Mauricio Gulla Moreira on Truax’s Bear Cat for 87.25. Thiago Salgado answered with 90.05 on Oyster Creek Brawler/
Kaique Pacheco would take XIT Knock Out for 87.90. Section five saw Eduardo Aparecido hit for 89.55 on Cowboy Channel Bar’s Magic Hunter. Maverick Smith rode Lap Dancer for 88.05 to end the section.
Paulo Eduardo Rossetto would put the first ride of section six on the board on top of Cookie for 85.80. Daylon Swearingen took Crazy Sox for 88.20, and Marco Rizzo got on Ugly This for 86.25. To start the seventh, Lucas Divino would put up 84.35 on Milestone. Hudson Bolton would stay perfect in the finals, putting up 87.25 on Dirty Honey.
The final section of the night would see the top three in the world starting with Sage Kimzey on Snap Chatter — Snap Chatter would win the battle on this night. Fielder rode Sour Patch and would put it on Sour Patch for 86.60, leaving only John Crimber left. On July, Crimber would finally put a score on the board at the finals with 89.40 to end the night.
