White Oak's softball team and coaches posed for this photo (from White Oak Ladynecks Softball Facebook) a few days ago, after finishing with an unbeaten 10-0 district record. The Ladynecks won the first game of a best-of-three-game contest against Tatum Thursday night at Spring Hill High School in Longview. Nelson won his third Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Boys Player of the Week, a record, as he's setting all kinds of records this year. Nelson is headed to the state track meet in both the shot and the discus. He's joined this week by Tatum golfer Hannah Marcott (below, with her teammates). Hannah was the low scorer for the Eagles, who qualified for the Class 3A state golf tournament at ShadowGlen Golf Club on May 6-7 in Manor. Story was elevated to the head coaching position by Sabine ISD after the departure of Colby Carr, leaving for the same position at Maud.
