ALL-STAR SATURDAY | Sabine’s Fierros, Spring Hill’s Fisher the only East Texans in TASCO girls all-star game

Friends and soccer standouts Analiyah Fierros of Sabine High School and Spring Hill’s Abby Fisher were both on the roster Saturday in San Antonio for the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) All-Star Game.
Both girls were selected to play as all-stars in the senior game, played at Blossom Athletic Center.
The two of them were the only two from East Texas to be selected. They played for Region II in the game against Region I, and Region I got the win, 5-1. The Region III vs. Region IV game followed at 2 p.m. The boys’ games followed the same format.
Fierros was honorable-mention all-region, and Fisher was first-team all-region.
At the all-star game on Saturday, Fierros, who had recently signed with Jacksonville College, played midfielder and forward. Fisher played center back.
The two girls’ teams were district opponents during the season: in district, Analiyah was the District 15-4A offensive player of the year, and Fisher was the district’s defensive player of the year. Fisher is headed to the University of Texas at Tyler, and will play volleyball there.
