SCOTT & BRADLEY | They’re not accountants; they’re the Whataburger / ETB Players of the Week!

Tatum High School’s JaCorie Bradley (above) and Kamdyn Scott (below) have been chosen as the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 20-25! Both teams are on eight-game winning streaks. It’s the second time this school year (this month, actually) that two Tatum players have won the same week, and the second time in the history of the Whataburger / ETB awards that it’s happened. And these photos are the excellent work of Melody Barbee Ford, of MelodyJean Photography. No, we haven’t changed the name of this award to the Tatum Players of the Week Awards. 😊

It only seems like it lately, because athletes – male and female – from Tatum High School keep delivering one impressive performance after another, and ETBlitz.com made a commitment from the launch of this site to recognize excellence in achievement in this area.

And that’s what we’re going to do.

That’s why today, Tatum’s JaCorie Bradley and Kamdyn Scott are the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 20-25.

Read below at the list of athletes that have won these awards since the current school year began. Tatum has had more wins of the award (10, just this school year alone) than any other school, but every single school in the ETBlitz coverage area – all 12 high schools AND Kilgore College – has had at least one winner.

And it’s hard to deny what Bradley and Scott (and their teams) are doing in high school basketball.

The Eagles, coached by Brett Carr, are now 22-2 on the season, are ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 3A, are 9-0 in District 16-3A (in which every single team is in the ETB area) and have won eight consecutive games.

And Bradley has been a big part of that. His presence was especially felt last week in a pair of wins over two good programs at Sabine High School and Arp High.

Bradley had 26 points in a 93-57 win over Sabine last Tuesday, Jan. 21, then had 29 points – 16 in the first half – in a 90-62 win at Arp on Friday.

It’s been a good month for coach Patricia Nelson’s Lady Eagles, too.

They’re 20-6 overall, have also won eight straight games, and 10-0 in 16-3A.

Girls basketball in Texas begins district play a little earlier than boys, and the girls will conclude their regular season on Tuesday with a home game against Troup. While Troup is also having an excellent season (in boys and girls basketball, actually), the Lady Eagles have already clinched the district championship – no one can catch them. They’ll be the No. 1 seed from 16-3A in the UIL 3A playoffs.

And again, Kamdyn Scott is a big reason why.

Kamdyn had 22 points, seven steals, five rebounds and blocked two shots in Tatum’s win at Arp on Friday. And this is also her second player of the week in basketball this month, and fourth overall this season! She won twice in volleyball.

Here are the other student athletes who have been honored with the awards so far in the 2024-25 school year:

There is something else: you win every time you get a meal at Whataburger.

Notice we didn’t say “grab a bite.” Whataburger is the world’s greatest hamburger restaurant – but Whataburger is a MEAL.

From the good ol’ original Whataburger to the new WhataWings, from the shakes and malts and soft drinks to the large breakfast menu, it’s really not cliché to say Whataburger has something for every taste.

They’re open 24 hours a day, serve breakfast from 11 p.m. until 11 a.m., and you can order ahead – or look at that great menu – on their app, or right here on the website: Whataburger | Order Online with Curbside and Delivery.

They’re also a great partner of ETBlitz.com, and congratulations to Kamdyn Scott and to JaCorie Bradley, the Whataburger / ETBlitz Players of the Week.
