ARP BLISTERS GARRISON | Langley has a hand in six touchdowns, as Tigers roll, 61-27

ARP – The quarterback is a focal point of attention in football – after all, he does touch the ball on every single offensive play.

Thursday night, Arp’s Ty Langley certainly had the attention of the Garrison Bulldogs – and everyone else – when Langley just went off, running for three touchdowns and passing for three more, as the Tigers cruised to a 61-27 win at home, at Bill Herrington Tiger Stadium here in Arp.

Langley ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the third quarter, upping Arp’s lead to 16 points (36-20) at the time. He’d run for an 80-yard score in the fourth.

His final numbers: 14 rushes for 170 yards and three touchdowns, and through the air, he completed 8-of-13 passes for 129 yards and three more TDs.

The three touchdown passes went to three different receivers: Tripp Durrett, Jeremee Shepherd and Noah Beck.

Arp led 22-0 before most fans got to their seats.

Langley’s 171 yards rushing on 13 carries far and away led the Tigers. Tanner Hunt had 102 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Beck narrowly missed the 100-yard mark – he finished with 98 rushing yards.

Layton Shelburne had three catches from Langley for 52 yards. Durrett, Beck, Shepperd, Donovan Garrett and Chrisden Ellis each caught a pass: Durrett for 30 yards and a touchdown; Beck for 18 yards, a touchdown; Garrett for 15 yards; Ellis for 8; and Shepperd for 6 yards.

Arp finished with 498 yards of total offense.

On the defensive end, in 13 possessions, Garrison did manage 333 rushing yards, but no passing yards to speak of just 18).

Cale Bedard and Donovan Garrett each intercepted Garrison once. T.J. Hines and Rickey Bayless each had a sack. Bayless also caused a fumble.

Ellis had six tackles, one for loss. Beck, Durrett, Hudson Orpineda, Hines and Bayless each had one, as well.
