The inclement weather played havoc with Kilgore and Tatum soccer on Friday morning at Kilgore’s R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium, and it completely changed the KHS-Henderson baseball lineup that had been planned for Friday.

Kilgore-Henderson will not be played on Friday – it will instead be played at Longview High School, varsity only, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The District 17-4A baseball games originally scheduled to be played at Henderson had the Lions hosting the Bulldogs at noon, the Junior Varsity Red team, and then varsity right after. But storms came through in the middle of the night, and early Friday morning, and it was just too wet to play – not only at Henderson, but at Driller Park, as well, coaches decided.

The JV game was canceled and coached discussed what to do about varsity. It was decided about 10:30 a.m. Friday after getting approval that Kilgore will play Henderson, varsity only, at 11:30 a.m. at Longview.

The weather also jostled around the soccer games between Kilgore and Tatum at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium. There were supposed to be three games at the stadium Friday morning: a JV boys game beginning at 10, then the varsity boys (11:45), then varsity girls (1 p.m.).

But the JV boys game was delayed a bit due to the weather, then after it began, about 18 minutes into the first half, lightning forced its cancellation altogether. The varsity boys game began about 11:35.

We’ll have more on ETBlitz.com as the day moves.
