So, we’ve talked about football practice starting and how business, as an old friend of ours would say, is about to pick up.

Well, business picks up — TONIGHT.

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) permits high school football programs across the state to begin practice on Monday, August 4, tomorrow. So coach Whitney Keeling and the Tatum High School Eagles are doing something that’s — well, a little different.

It’s Midnight Madness tonight at the Eagles’ indoor facility on campus.

The Eagles are inviting fans to come out and be a part of the first practice of the season, which technically will begin at 12:01 a.m.

Fans are asked to bring lawn chairs and set them up inside the indoor, and open the season in memorable fashion.

And obviously, we’ll be there, too.

We’re going to be LIVE on the ETBlitz Facebook page tonight, and if you’re not planning on being out in Eagle-land to see the craziness, we’ll bring it to you, if you stay up. And that’ll also serve as Wake Up!, presented by Cozy Coffee Station. Cozy Coffee Station is like a dream land for coffee-lovers — seriously. They’ve got two locations: in Kilgore at 110 Midtown Plaza, and in Gilmer at 755 Highway 271 North, both inside Credit Union Of Texas.
