WAKE UP! | It’s the ETBlitz picks for week SEVEN (can you believe we’ve played seven weeks?)!

EDITOR’S NOTE: You know what happens when you visit Cozy Coffee Station’s website, right here: Home | Cozy Coffee Station? Take one look at the menu and you’ll find yourself driving there, that’s what! And here you go, so you can plug it into whatever you use to navigate yourself: 110 Midtown Plaza in Kilgore and 755 Highway 271 in Gilmer. There, saved you the trouble. Seriously, they do have great products, and the Autumn Apple Cider is one of ’em (scroll down to the bottom past this weekend’s picks). Don’t wait until tomorrow morning — go see ’em TODAY! And Wake Up! is presented by Cozy Coffee Station, and we are so blessed for our relationship with them, and all of our advertising partners here at ETBlitz.com. (Oh, and thanks to Josh Lyons for the really cool ‘ETBlitz’ logo on the home page with this story!)

You can believe it or not, folks, but we are already beginning week SEVEN of the high school football season.

I know, right?

It seems every year we wait, count it down, for football season to get here, and then once we’re in it, it just flies by. And that’s happened again.

So many big games around the area, including Pittsburg at Gilmer (ask anyone on the street at Gilmer if you don’t believe that), Overton-Lovelady, Waskom-Beckville, Kilgore hosting Chapel Hill and much more, as well as Texas-Oklahoma and the Dallas Cowboys in a trap game at Carolina.

Let’s not waste any time; let’s get to it.

Here’s our panel:

And here’s where we stand so far.

Last week, everybody had a pretty good week. And both Dennis Jacobs and Jeremy Newlin went undefeated in high school picks!

I will say this in my own defense: if the NFL favorites had won like they SHOULD have, I would have finished much better. Now that we’ve gotten the sour grapes out of the way, here are last week’s results.

Jacob had the best record of the week, going 17-4, really good. Joe, Dennis, Billy and Alex each went 16-5, also very good.

Ashtyn, Jenna, Jeremy, Dereck and myself each finished 15-6. And the grapes are getting sour by the minute.

Clayton went 14-7.

Now, the overall standings…

We’ve picked 127 games through six weeks.

Jacob, by virtue of his big week last week, now is in the outright lead, having broken the tie with himself, Billy and me. Jacob is the leader with a 93-33-1 record. Billy is right behind him (92-34-1).

Joe, myself are each a game back (91-35-1).

Ashtyn, Dereck, and Dennis all have the same record, 90-36-1.

Alex is 87-39-1; Jenna is 86-40-1; Clayton is 85-41-1; and Jeremy is 80-46-1.

Here’s hoping everybody does really well this week — because a lot of our picks are the same across the board this time. We’ll see.

Here are this week’s games, along with times.
