WAKE UP! IT’S MONDAY! | Beckville preview hits at noon; The Bulletin Board is updated, and likely has something you need to know; Rangers sinking like a rock

EDITOR’S NOTE: Are you aware that while you’ve been sleeping, the staff at Cozy Coffee Station (in both Gilmer and Kilgore) are helping you get ready for the start of the week?! Well, they have! They’ve been up early, and they’re already at work getting your drinks, your breakfast sandwiches, ready for you to come by, pick up and – well, WAKE UP! today. Seriously, they’re professionals. You can try to do what they do at home, but you’re not going to be as good at it. 😊 Go by and see them in Kilgore at 110 Midtown Plaza, and in Gilmer at 755 Highway 271 North. Tell ‘em you read about ‘em on Wake Up!, which they present each and every day.

There is SO much going on right now throughout the communities that we cover here on ETBlitz, and that’s the purpose behind this right here: ETBLITZ BULLETIN BOARD, presented by CLOWER MEATS | Updated Monday, Aug. 11.
That link has all kinds of things, from reserved parking available now at Henderson High School football games, a reminder that Kilgore’s watermelon fest is Thursday after practice, that White Oak athletic events are going cashless this year, and more.
If you need to catch up on what’s happening in a quick and efficient way, click the Bulletin Board. It’s presented by the good folks at Clower Meats, and it’s updated TODAY (very early, actually).
Today’s football preview: BECKVILLE
Our own Joe Hale continues his tour to the different cities, communities that make up the ETBlitz.com coverage area. Joe’s getting to all the football practices of our 15 programs, because it’s 15 Previews in 15 Days.
Today’s stop: Beckville, where coach Cody Ross, running back Jorden Prince and a host of other players plan to do everything possible to make life miserable on that football field for the teams on their schedule, beginning with the opener at home on Thursday, Aug. 28, San Augustine.
Beckville is also one of three new schools whose athletics ETBlitz.com will cover this year, joining Carthage and Pine Tree in that regard.
A little bit from today’s Beckville preview:
“The Bearcats are picked to finish second in District 10-2A, DI behind Waskom in Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s preseason poll, which we use here at ETBlitz.com. Also, Beckville running back Jorden Prince is the DCTF choice for preseason offensive most valuable player.
The Bearcats lost some skill players to graduation, but they didn’t lose Prince, quarterback Braxton Bullock, wide receiver / defensive back Grayson Hicks, running back / linebacker Rudy Watts or offensive lineman Gunner McDaniel, whom Ross believes can step up and be this team’s leaders.
Beckville returns five starters on each side of the ball.”
Our preview series began Thursday, and in case you missed any of them, here are the links in case you’d like to go back and read ‘em…

The Beckville preview will hit ETBlitz.com at noon.

Rangers Report
Well, I wish I had good news.
But if you’re a Texas Rangers fan, I don’t.
The Rangers slipped again, losing 4-2 at home to Philadelphia on Sunday, and they lost the series, as well.
In fact, Texas has lost their last four games, and is 3-7 in their last 10. They’re 60-59 on the season to date, and all that groundwork laid just after the all-star break looks like it might go for naught now, unless a turnaround happens soon.
Texas is third in the American League West, behind Houston (66-52) and red-hot Seattle (66-53), which has won seven straight and is within a half-game of overtaking the Astros in the division.
The Rangers are 6 ½ games out of the division lead, but still a comfortable four games in front of fourth-place Los Angeles, whose Angels have also been losing.
Texas has an interesting couple of days. They’ll host the Arizona Diamondbacks beginning tonight, and through Wednesday, then they take Thursday off before heading to Toronto for a game one of a series with the Blue Jays.
