WAKE UP! | ETBlitz Power Picks week six, featuring KHS-Hendo

EDITOR’S NOTE: Wake Up! is presented by Cozy Coffee Station in both Kilgore (110 Midtown Plaza) and in Gilmer (755 Highway 271 North), and they’ll make you a regular customer if you make one trip. Check them out online right here: cozycoffeestation.com.

So last week, a couple of members of our panel who don’t normally, um, do very well won the week: my wife, Jenna, our executive editor, and my assistant editor, Clayton Fletcher. Picking winners isn’t normally their thing, but they each finished with a 16-4-1 record last week.

Billy Chrisman, who won our bowl pick contest last season, went 15-5-1.

Four of us — my son, Jacob; Jeremy Newlin; Dereck Borders and myself — each finished 14-6-1. Joe Hale and my youngest daughter, Ashtyn, each went 13-7-1. And photographers Alex Nabor and Dennis Jacobs each went 12-8-1.

On the season to date, last week we had a five-way tie. We now have a three-way tie, but it’s still fairly close across the board.

Jacob, Billy and myself are each 76-29-1 so far this year and are co-leaders. Ashtyn, Joe and Dereck are each 75-30-1 and tied for second.

Dennis is 74-31-1 and alone in third. Alex, Jenna and Clayton are all tied at 71-34-1. And Jeremy is in back, at 65-40-1.
