Dallas Cowboys fans are faithful viewers when their team is on TV.
In fact, all football fans are viewers when the Cowboys are on TV: their games are always among the highest-rated NFL games each year.
Tonight’s “Monday Night Football” game in Las Vegas between the Cowboys and the Raiders will have a LOT of viewers in East Texas, and here’s why: former Arp High School and University of Texas standout Demarvion Overshown will make his season debut.

And another East Texan, former West Rusk star Tyree Wilson, plays for the Raiders.
Overshown, who was injured late-late-late last season in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals last December 9, and has been rehabbing that knee injury ever since, is finally cleared, and according to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter (and many others), Overshown will be in the lineup tonight at 7:20 p.m. when the Cowboys (3-5-1) kick off against the Las Vegas (2-7) at Allegiant Stadium. The game airs live on ABC and ESPN, and Joe Buck and former Dallas quarterback Troy Aikman are on the call.
The Cowboys can use Overshown, a linebacker. He’ll joins a defensive unit that’s allowing almost 400 total yards per game.
When he was in the lineup, Overshown was nothing short of great. Drafted in the third round in April 2023, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound former Longhorn has 90 total tackles (56 solo) in 13 games played — injuries have been a problem, but hopefully that’s behind him. He also has five sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and an interception returned for a touchdown.
It’s been an eventful almost-year for the Arp native. He had a “Welcome to Arp” sign dedicated in his honor by the city, and was there, promising ETBlitz and others he would indeed make it back from what was a devastating injury: not only a torn ACL, but a torn MCL and a posterior cruciate ligament that ESPN reporter Todd Archer described as “ripped from the bone.” In Overshown’s right knee, only the lateral collateral ligament was intact.
Overshown, the proud former Tiger, refused a cart and somehow walked off on his own power, but has leaned on family and teammates alike during his rehab.
Since then, he has worked hard, and harder, and oh, by the way, a couple of monumental off-the-field family events in Demarvion’s life happened this year, as well: he proposed to girlfriend Alexis Babino, and he and Babino have a second child, a son named Texas Lee.
By the way, there is one other former change that Cowboys fans will notice. Overshown, whose nickname is “Agent Zero,” will wear just that: the number zero. His former number is 13, but he petitioned the league for a change in the offseason, and it was granted. He’ll be 0 when the Cowboys take the field tonight in Vegas.
Now, Wilson, the former West Rusk Raider, former Texas Tech Red Raider and CURRENT Las Vegas Raider — that’s an imposing physical presence.
He’s 6-5, 263 pounds and might be bigger, and coming off the edge at full speed, any quarterback wants to know where big number nine is at all times.
This season, through nine games, Wilson has 17 total tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. In his career, he has 73 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two recoveries.
The 25-year-old was a first-round pick out of Tech back in 2023. The Raiders are 2-7 now, and at the bottom of the AFC West, but hopefully moving up.
