UIL TITLE-GAME WEEK | Schedule for all games, ticket links, broadcast info, more you need to know (w/final brackets)
You may have heard that Texas high school football crowns its state champions this week at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
You might have also heard that the sky is blue and that Santa Claus wears red and white.
Kilgore High School’s Bulldogs are back in a state football championship game for the first time since 2013. Coach Clint Fuller and the Bulldogs are 13-2, are on a nine-game winning streak, and will take on Celina (15-0) Friday in the Class 4A, Division I State Championship Game, second game of the day, a 3 p.m. kickoff.
Prior to that, Carthage (14-1) faces La Vega (12-3) in the 4A-DII State Championship Game at 11 a.m.
But there are 10 other games, as well, and what if you want to go? What if you can’t go, and just want to watch? How much are tickets? Parking? What about Kilgore, are they doing a send-off?
Here’s all you need to know for this week. Thursday morning, we’ll release our actual preview of Kilgore-Celina.
HOW TO WATCH
If you’re only going for Kilgore, or Carthage, or if you’re not going to AT&T Stadium this week at all and still want to watch, you can see every single state championship game at the FanDuel Sports Network, formerly Bally Sports, and before that, formerly Fox Sports Southwest.
You’ll need a subscription – you knew that was coming – and they have three plans, including one for $19.99 a month that can be canceled any time, but if you do the monthly plan, you will have to pay for that before you cancel. Here’s the link to get started: FanDuel Sports Network.
If you do that option, you’ll see all the games, called by Craig Way, Ted Emrich and Mike Leslie, and the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football staff, like Greg Tepper. The Ford Championship Live broadcasts that have been postgame and pregame for several years will be back, featuring Erin Hartigan, Ashley Pickle and former coach Ken Purcell.
IF YOU’RE GOING
Purchase tickets here on SeatGeek: UIL High School Football State Championships Tickets 2024-2025 | Authenticated NFL Tickets | SeatGeek.
All tickets are general admission and are $20 each. IF YOU USE THIS CODE, IT’S $5 OFF: 4AD1V24.
There won’t be any ticket booths open on game day, though, for the entire week. The tickets are digital, not paper, and you’ll need to have your mobile device ready with the ticket pulled up prior to being allowed in to AT&T Stadium.
Most passes are allowed for this week; everyone not with a team or with media must have a ticket. Texas High School Coaches Association and other cards will be accepted for only the cardholder, not like the cardholder plus one, etc.
In addition, AT&T Stadium is now a cashless facility, so if you plan to park there, or go to a concession stand, you’ll need to have a credit card, debit card or be prepared to pay with mobile pay.
Gates open an hour before the start of the first game each day, which means 10 a.m. every day this week.
Parking is $25 per car, and $50 per bus. Lots open 90 minutes before the first games each day, which means they’ll open at 9:30 a.m.
AT&T has a clear-bag policy, and fans are required to walk through metal detectors as they enter. And don’t bring confetti, streamers, etc., because they really frown on that – they’re prohibited.
Banners are allowed if it’s not “impeding the view” of other guests. Good luck with that.
Also prohibited: air horns, whistles, and manufactured propane tank noisemakers. Some noisemakers are allowed: cowboys, clackers, etc.
There is this: train horns will be allowed by the teams on the field.
For all of this, and more, here’s this year’s program: 2024_UIL_Football_State_Program.pdf.

THE SCHEDULE
Wednesday’s games
11 a.m., Class 1A, Division II Six-Man State Championship: Jayton (14-0) vs. Oakwood (9-5): This is the first game of the week, the first of two UIL six-man football state championship games.
2 p.m., Class 1A, Division I Six-Man State Championship: Whiteface (14-0) vs. Gordon (14-0). This would be the state championship game that Leverett’s Chapel, one of our ETBlitz.com-area programs, would play in, if the Lions were at state.
7 p.m., Class 2A, Division II State Championship: Muenster (13-2) vs. Shiner (12-3). The game that, had Overton survived through the playoffs, the Mustangs would play in.
Thursday’s games
11 a.m., Class 2A, Division I State Championship: Stamford (15-0) vs. Ganado (14-1).
3 p.m., Class 3A, Division II State Championship: Gunter (13-2) vs. Woodville (13-2): Had West Rusk, Arp or Troup made their state championship game, this is the game in which they would’ve played.
7 p.m., Class 3A, Division I State Championship: Malakoff (15-0) vs. Columbus (14-1). Malakoff is an East Texas team, way out of the ETBlitz coverage area, that defeated both Jefferson and Liberty-Eylau in the playoffs and defeated West Rusk in the regular season. Malakoff is looking to repeat as 3A-DI state champions.
Friday’s games
11 a.m., Class 4A, Division II State Championship: Carthage (14-1) vs. La Vega (12-3). That “1” in the Carthage loss column was by Kilgore in the season opener back on Aug. 31 – Carthage is on a 14-game winning streak. It’s a rematch of the 2019 state championship game, in which Carthage beat the Waco-area team, 42-28.
3 p.m., Class 4A, Division I State Championship: Kilgore (13-2) vs. Celina (15-0). It’s the first meeting that we know of between the Ragin’ Red and Celina, both having played very difficult schedules. Celina is the home team for the game. Again, our preview of KHS-Celina will hit tomorrow morning on ETBlitz.com.
7 p.m., Class 5A, Division II State Championship: South Oak Cliff (13-2) vs. Richmond Randle.
Saturday’s games
11 a.m., Class 5A, Division I State Championship: Highland Park (14-1) vs. Smithson Valley (13-2).
3 p.m., Class 6A, Division II State Championship: Southlake Carroll (15-0) vs. Austin Vandegrift (14-1), the game, of course, that had Longview beaten SLC, the Lobos would’ve played in it.
7 p.m., Class 6A, Division I State Championship: North Crowley (15-0) vs. Austin Westlake (14-1).
Now, because they’ve been popular since the playoffs began, here are the final playoff brackets for each of the classifications, beginning with the two divisions of 6A.
