TATUM, OVERTON IN PLAYOFF GAMES TONIGHT | All sorts of info here: tickets, if you go, and streaming

Tatum High School head football coach Whitney Keeling (above), a winner of a couple of state championships as the head coach and athletic director at Waskom, is bringing that success to Tatum. The Eagles can make a major statement tonight if they can get past Malakoff, the No. 1 team in the state in Class 3A, in the UIL 3A-DI playoffs at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium, a 7 p.m. kickoff. Also tonight at 7, in San Augustine: Overton meets Evadale. (Photo by JENNA LUCAS – ETBLITZ.COM)

Why wait until Friday when you can have high school football, in the playoffs, tonight?

Two ETBlitz.com-area teams – the Tatum High School Eagles, and the Overton High Mustangs – are in action tonight in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) postseason: Tatum (6-4) faces Mabank (10-0) in the first, or bi-district, round of the Class 3A, Division I playoffs, and Overton (8-2) meets Evadale (7-3) in round one of the UIL Class 2A, Division II playoffs.

The Tatum-Mabank game kicks off at 7 p.m. at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler. Parking is free; tickets are $5 each, and are available in advance here: Tatum vs. Malakoff | TYLER ISD Box Office. There are no cash sales.

Tatum is the visiting team for tonight’s game and should enter at gate seven; Malakoff is the home team, and should enter at gate three.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Rose Stadium does have a clear bag policy, meaning (according to their policy) bags should be clear, vinyl or PVC totes that don’t exceed 12” X 6” X 12”.

The Tatum-Malakoff winner will face either Pottsboro (10-1) or Maypearl (6-4) next week. Pottsboro and Maypearl are meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at Mesquite Memorial.

See a streaming broadcast of the game on the NFHS Network app, or on NFHSNetwork.com – a subscription fee applies if you’re not already a member, but on that app, there are actually two broadcasts: the Malakoff home broadcast and the Tatum home broadcast.

Overton’s game with Evadale is also tonight, a 7 p.m. kickoff at San Augustine ISD Stadium, and that’s at 702 North Clark Street in San Augustine.

Tickets will be on sale at the door.

And like the Tatum-Malakoff game, NFHS Network is also carrying Overton-Evadale, though just one broadcast, and not two.

The Overton-Evadale winner advances to face either Mart (8-2) or Cumby (5-5) in the second, or area round. Mart and Cumby are playing Friday night at 7 p.m. at Malakoff.

Overton’s Bryson Bobbitt (11) breaks free and eventually scores against Cushing, as teammate Garrett Boney (right) signals the touchdown. Overton (8-2) faces Evadale (7-3) tonight at 7 p.m. in San Augustine. (Photo by RONNIE SARTORS – SPORT SHOT PHOTOGRAPHY / ETBLITZ.COM)
