TATUM GIRLS GOLF EIGHTH | Second-straight year at state tourney for Eagles

Tatum High School’s girls golf team, who has had a pair of spectacular seasons, played in the University Interscholastic League’s Class 3A State Tournament Monday and Tuesday at ShadowGlen Golf Club at Manor, finishing eighth. Senior Hannah Marcott, the team’s only senior, shot back-to-back scores in the 80s, an 82 on day one, and an 88 on Tuesday to finish 11th individually. As a team, coach Jeremy Kubiak’s Eagles were consistent: they shot 398 on Monday and 398 on Tuesday. Ava Quick did back-to-back 99s; Kaysen Foster shot a 109 on Monday and 104 on Tuesday; Elyana Hill shot 107 on each day; and Taydem Barker shot 113 on Monday and 114 on Tuesday. It was Tatum’s second straight year of playing in the tournament as a team. Odessa Compass Academy won the tournament with a two-day 677; Corpus Christi London finished second (707); and Gunter was third (724).
