SECORD RELAYS | Kilgore, Gladewater track athletes’ results

Track and field teams from Kilgore and Gladewater competed in the rain-shortened Bill Secord Relays on Friday in Longview at Spring Hill High School, after the event was already delayed a couple of days by wet weather.

Organizers elected not to have the field events, but the results from the running events are below.

Ironically, the teams will meet again in the Gladewater-hosted Walter Derrick Relays on Thursday.

For Kilgore’s varsity boys:

• Zachery Gutierrez won the 800 meter run (2 minutes, 6.35 seconds) and teammate Luciano Brizuela was third (2:12.75).

Gutierrez was second for the Bulldogs in the 400 meter dash (54.52 seconds), won by Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill’s Ryder Steele (54.03). Jeremiah Duncan of KHS was 13^th (59.70).

• Luciano Brizuela was third in the 1,600 meter, or mile, run (4:59), and Kilgore’s Jose Martinez was sixth in the 3,200 meter, or two-mile (11:24).
• Carson Bynum finished third in the 100 meter dash (10.95 seconds). TK White was sixth (11.29).
• White was fifth in the 200 meter dash (23.68), with Mikel Dennis finishing 14^th (24.72). Gilmer’s Trillyon Butler (22.19) was first – two of his teammates, Ta’Erik Tate (22.59) and Dhrvay Smith (23.28) were second and third.
• Kilgore’s Rylan Chaney was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (44.99 seconds) and seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (17.76 seconds).
• In relays, the Bulldogs finished third in the 1,600 meter relay (3 minutes, 40.10 seconds) and fourth in the 800 meter (1 minute, 34.09 seconds).

Varsity girls

• Autumn McDaniel was second in the 800 meter run (2 minutes, 46.53 seconds), and then third in the mile run (6:32.73). Teammate Evelyn Leon was fourth (6:37.49).
• Tamia Hill was fourth in the 100 meter dash (12.99 seconds). Teammates Kyra Spyhalski was 11^th (13.81) and Maurine Witt, 12^th (14.14).
• Aaliyah Williams finished sixth in the 200 meter dash (28.12), and Sage Scudday was 11^th (30.19).
• Giselle Webster was third in the 400 meter run (1 minute, 8.27 seconds). Giselle Rodriguez was ninth (1:11.77) and Kylee Hunter, 11^th (1:16.13).
• In the 100 meter hurdles, Kilgore’s Elizabeth Walker was eighth (18.70 seconds).
• Sheba Meyer was third and Walker, fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (Meyer 51.47 seconds and Walker, 51.48 seconds).
• Kilgore was third in the 400 meter relay (51.84 seconds), and fourth in the mile relay (4:33.58).

Junior varsity boys

• Jeremiah Freeman won the 100 meter dash (11.39 seconds). Rayshaun Williams was fourth (11.87) and Javon Towns, third (11.92 seconds).
• David Fierros won the 800 meter run (2:21.91) and Carson Palmer was third (2:23.54), Juan Cardozo fifth (2:26.41).
• Fierros was third in the mile run (5:39.95) and Cardozo, fifth (5:50.55).
• Isaiah Watters was third in the 200 meter dash (24.66 seconds), and Travis Holmes was 10^th (25.73) and Kemuel Odinyou, 16^th (26.75).
• Isaiah Jamaica was ninth in the JV boys 400 meter run (1:01.13), with Dre Sanders 10^th (1:01.65) and Dylan Mitchell, 13^th (1:03.80).
• Kilgore’s 800 meter relay team won their event (1:36.86) and the 400 meter relay team was second (45.85 seconds), the mile relay team, fourth (4:01.63).

Gladewater’s varsity boys

• JT Maddox was seventh in the 100 meter dash (11.30 seconds). Teammate Kryon Wilson was 11^th (11.66 seconds).
• Latrell Henderson (24.53 seconds) and Kingston Sheffield (24.59) were 12^th-13^th, respectively, in the 200 meter dash.
• Brayson Woods was sixth in the 400 meter run (57.38 seconds).
• Gladewater’s 400 meter relay team was third (44.30 seconds), the 800 meter relay team, sixth (1:35.87.

Varsity girls

• Tyalice Williams was sixth in the 100 meter dash (13.19 seconds) and teammate Kadin Rushing was ninth (13.63).
• Williams was fourth in the 200 meter dash (27.43 seconds), with teammate Khera Lincoln, 12^th (31.17 seconds) and Hayden Mumphrey, 14^th (32.26).
• Illaysa Hawley was seventh in the 400 meter run (1 minute, 10.02 seconds).
• Selah Perry was sixth in the two-mile run (16:46).
• Olivia Marshburn (24.21) and Gizelle Sergio (24.25) were 10^th and 11^th in the 100 meter hurdles, then reversed – Sergio ninth, Marshburn 10^th – in the 300 meter hurdles (Sergio in 58.34 seconds and Marshburn in 59.87).
• The 800 meter relay team finished fourth (1:59.74) and the 400 meter relay, sixth (55.10).

Junior varsity boys

• Tray Watts won the 200 meter dash (24.36 seconds). Ami Keys was ninth (25.73 seconds) and Za’Kevion Watson, 18^th (27.93).
• Korbin Sergio was second in the 400 meter run (57.29 seconds), and Ethan Alverez fourth (58.75).
• Eric Little was third in the 100 meter dash (11.75 seconds), Keys, sixth (12 seconds), and Carsin Cooper, 12^th (12.43 seconds).
• Mariano Perez was sixth in the 800 meter run (5:53.11).
• KyVyrion Sheppard was sixth (53.42) in the 300 meter hurdles.
• The Bears’ JV 400 meter relay was third (46.38 seconds), the 800 meter relay, sixth (1:41.74) and the mile relay, sixth as well (4:08.75).
