RECOVERY ROAD | Overshown’s drive back continues; Father’s Day more special with new son

Congratulations are in order to an East Texan and a member of what we like to call the ETBlitz.com family, and the Dallas Cowboys family.

Arp native and Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and his fiancée, Alexis brought baby Texas Lee Overshown into the world this past week, just in time for Father’s Day. Texas Lee was born on Friday.
Overshown, to be injured, has made major headlines in the offseason.
The former Arp Tiger, Texas Longhorn and current Cowboy changes his number to match that “Agent Zero” nickname – he’ll be the first Cowboy in franchise history to wear the number zero in regular season history, when he makes his debut.
Prior to that, his likeness was displayed just outside his hometown, on the outskirts of Arp, in very sizeable “Welcome To Arp, home of DeMarvion Overshown” signage.
And the Cowboys need three players – Agent Zero and corners Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland – to all make a good, but thorough, recovery so that their defense can return to championship form.
Prior to getting hurt late in the season, Overshown in 2024 had 90 total tackles, 56 of them solo, five sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception (returned for a touchdown) on the season. Bland, who was drafted out of Fresno State in the fifth round in 2022, has 164 total tackles and 14 overall picks (five for touchdowns), and Diggs had 49 tackles and two interceptions before his injury. In five seasons, the former Alabama star has 215 tackles and 20 interceptions.
With all three players back in the lineup, and a contract-extended, happy Micah Parsons, Dallas’s ‘D’ could be one of, if not the, best unit in the NFC, maybe the entire league.
Congratulations, Dee and Alexis, on baby Texas; we wish y’all the best.
