PREDICTION? PAIN | DCTF offers predictions for weekend’s playoffs (link inside), including our area’s games

Each week, the folks at Dave Campbell’s Texas Football have what they refer to as “a computer model” look at games around the state and project winners.
Now, the DCTF website, texasfootball.com (Texas High School Football – Coverage From Dave Campbell’s Texas Football), is a subscription site, and here at ETBlitz.com, I (Mitch Lucas) do subscribe to DCTF. That’s because I set aside that money each month to do so, for a number of reasons: number one, they’re good at what they do and I enjoy reading their writers, like Matt Stepp. Number two, I respect their rankings during the actual season, which is why we use them. Number three, I like to give back to this business.
ETBlitz.com doesn’t use the same business model. We’ve never had a paywall and we’ve never been a subscription service. That’s just not what we do. We allow you guys to read all you want for free, and we have advertising plans (which I am so grateful for our advertising partners – and anyone interested can become one for a very reasonable cost).
Back to the topic at hand: listed below are how DCTF sees the eight games involving the teams that ETB covers that are remaining in the playoffs. And we’d be appreciative if you guys would click on the DCTF link, and take a look at their subscription rates. I KNOW that if you subscribe, you won’t regret it. It’s a great thing to have AND you get the big thick magazine that comes out each year as a part of your subscription. Now, you can’t beat that.
How did the computer see the second-round games involving ETBlitz-area teams? Here it ‘tis, and if you want to see their predictions for the other 204 games, you’ll need that subscription, but here’s the link: TXHSFB Computer Projections for All 212 Area Round Playoff Games.
Back in the early 1980s, in probably THE BEST of the Rocky films, bad-guy Clubber Lang had this prediction of his own.
4A-DI, Kilgore-Stafford: Kilgore by 26 POINTS. Oh, man.
4A-DI, Pine Tree-Houston Yates: Yates (who is 11-0) by TWO points. Wow, a lot of respect for Pine Tree. I like that.
4A-DII, Carthage-Sanger: Carthage by, um, 29 FREAKING POINTS, one of the biggest margins by the computer. Yeah, that’s about right. It might even by conservative a little.
3A-DI, Gladewater-Grandview: They say first-year coach Jermaine Lewis’s Bears will win by FOUR. Hey, if I’m Gladewater, I’ll take that. Absolutely.
3A-DII, Troup-Hooks: Troup by double-digits, Tigers by 10, computer says. Ok.
3A-DII, Arp-Daingerfield: Computer likes Daingerfield in this one. They say the Tigers (in blue) by six. Not sure about that one.
2A-DI: Beckville-Jewett Leon: Leon is unbeaten (11-0) and the computer believes they’ll stay that way, by 10 points.
2A-DII: Overton vs. Goldthwaite: Computer says Goldthwaite by three. MITCH says eh-eh (shakes finger); waaasaaaayy too much Rylan Holleman for that to happen. Overton by eight, maybe even 10. Let’s see how it goes.
