The world title race is a tight one, as Cassio Dias of Brazil has less than a 500-point lead on the 18-year-old rookie John Crimber, from Decatur, Texas. Crimber cut into that lead in round one with an 88-point ride on top of Skippy and Dias bucked off in round two both bucked off.
Incredibly, both are rookies.
In round one, there where only four riders that made the eight seconds. Sage Kimzey started the night off with an 89-point ride on Jersey Tuff. The second ride of the night was Cort McFadden, who was 87 points on Dana White’s Twisted Steel. McFadden also won $50,000 for making the eight seconds.
Brady Fielder got on two bulls in the first round, as the first one fouled himself and Fielder took advantage of his re-ride, cashing in an 89.75 ride. He would take the first-round win.
Kaiden Loud also made a ride in round one on July for an 89.50 to take second in the first round.
Fielder took the round one win and $50,000.
In round two, there were seven riders making the eight seconds, beginning with three-time PBR world champion Silvano Alves, who hit an 88.75 on Black Ice.
