LADY EAGLES PLAY TONIGHT! | Volleyball power Tatum faces Ponder at 7 p.m. in Forney
It would be interesting to hear what opposing teams think the moment they find out they’re matched up against coach Leven Barker and his Tatum Lady Eagles volleyball program in the postseason.
Is the first thought to break and run? Might be.
The Lady Eagles, winners of 20 straight matches, play tonight in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 3A, Division I Regional Semifinals. Tatum, with an unbelievable 40-5 record, will face Ponder (35-5) at 7 p.m. tonight at Forney High School.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and can be purchased here: VOLLEYBALL REGIONAL SEMIFINALS – Ponder vs Tatum | Forney ISD Box Office.
Tatum is the visiting team, by the way, and Forney High has a clear-bag policy.
It’s the regional tournament, so a win means facing either New Diana (29-11) or Gunter (31-10) in the regional finals on Saturday, also at Forney; we’ll have to let you know on a time.
Tatum has had three players — Kamdyn Scott, Kaysen Foster and Karly Stroud — to win Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week this season, and Scott won it twice. The Lady Eagles are ranked No. 2 in the state in 3A in the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll.
Ponder, by the way, has only won two straight, but has gone 16-4 in neutral-site games this year.
