KHS SWEEPS CARTHAGE | And here’s a Hi-Stepper gallery, too
Kilgore High School’s soccer teams scored a pair of huge District 15-4A soccer wins on Friday night – the Bulldogs shutting out Carthage at home at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium, 4-0, and the Lady Bulldogs absolutely spanking CHS at their own home, 10-0.
Coach Todd BonDurant’s Lady ‘Dogs are now 5-1 in district play, their only loss a setback at Henderson a week ago, and 10-3-2 overall. All of those goals weren’t documented for ETBlitz at press time Friday night.
Kilgore’s teams will be back in action against Tatum at Tatum Monday at 4 – that’s Tatum’s junior varsity boys starting at 4 p.m., then the varsity girls game, with varsity boys up last (Tatum no longer has JV girls due to injuries). The games are being played at Tatum due to the games earlier in the season being moved to Kilgore.
The Bulldogs had some special guests on Friday night at R.E. St. John, as the Kilgore Hi-Steppers performed for what’s believed to be the first time at a KHS soccer game to a good ovation. Coach Hector Peralez’s Bulldogs then remained undefeated with their 13th victory of the year, now 13-0-2 overall and 6-0 in 15-4A play.
Adan Reyes scored twice for Kilgore, and Diego Rojas and Jerson Alevar Flores each scored once.
