Kilgore College KC WINS AWARD | Kilgore College takes award at kickoff luncheon Mitch Lucas 3 months ago Kilgore College was the recipient of a special award on Tuesday, at the East Texas Kickoff Luncheon in Tyler. KC won the Danny Palmer East Texas Team Service Award. The award is named for Palmer, the former Tyler Junior College coach and Laird Hill native, mainly because his teams won the award so often. Pictured: KC head football coach Willie Gooden. Greg Tepper, the managing editor of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, was the keynote speaker for the event, which was held at the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center, hosted by Baylor, Scott & White Texas Spine & Joint Hospital and Azalea Orthopedics, by the City of Tyler, the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, Visit Tyler and SPORTyler, and emceed by KLTV Sports Director Michael Coleman.
