KC, TJC BOTH PLAY TODAY | RXIV tourney belongs to the ladies today: KC at 6, TJC at 8; men’s tourney resumes Thursday, all in Baytown
Men’s and women’s basketball teams across the country dream of hoisting a national championship trophy by the end of this month.
March Madness has certainly taken on a life of its own, and not just at the four-year NCAA level.
The Region XIV Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments are being played at Lee College in Baytown, with the winners of each getting the prize of moving on to the NJCAA’s national tournaments. And after a first round on Tuesday of nothing but men’s games, it’s the ladies in action all day today.
Now, neither Kilgore College nor Tyler Junior College had a team playing yesterday. Both KC and the Apaches had the first round off, a first-round bye as two of the four teams to get one.
So KC and TJC join the action today, but it’s the ladies.
The Lady Rangers, seeded No. 2 in the women’s bracket and the defending Region XIV women’s tourney champions, will face seventh seed Angelina College at 6 p.m., and then third-seeded Tyler will meet six-seeded Paris.
The men’s tournament takes the day off today, then resumes with round two, the quarterfinals, on Thursday, and that’s when KC and TJC men are finally in action after sitting out that first round. The Rangers will face Lee, the host team, Thursday night at 6 p.m.; the Apaches will meet Angelina.
Women’s games are the remainder of the day today, beginning at 1 p.m. with top women’s seed Trinity Valley facing eighth seed Coastal Bend at 1 p.m. and Blinn and Panola, seeded fourth and fifth, respectively, hitting the court at 3.
All men’s games can be seen online, live streaming, right here: 2026 Region 14 Men’s Basketball Tournament – TSBN Sports.
All women’s games can also be seen online, and that’s right here: 2026 Region 14 Women’s Basketball Tournament – TSBN Sports.
