KC’S BLUE-WHITE GAME WRAPS UP SPRING | With photos by ALEX NABOR
A good crowd turned out Saturday for PKilgore College’s annual Blue vs. White Spring Game at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

For the Blue team, Tyler Webb had three touchdowns, two of them to wide receiver Elijah Bean and a third to tight end Ashtin Watkins. Running back Caleb Berry scored a touchdown for the White, their only technical touchdown of the contest – the teams played a half of football, although the scoreboard wasn’t on, and the clock and score was kept on the field by officials. Coach Willie Gooden spent his time on the field, as he said he would the day before on ETBlitz.com, observing. They finished the scrimmage with the teams alternating possessions from the 2-yard-line, almost like alternative two-point conversion attempts. Mason Welch was the quarterback for most of the scrimmage for the White team; Chase Geissel got playing time late.

The Rangers open the 2024 season at home on Aug. 24 against Monterrey Tech, then host Southwest Junior College Football Conference rival New Mexico Military on Aug. 31.
