KC went 9-2 in the 2023 season, winning the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC), beating Navarro in the title game to avenge their only regular season loss. After that, they were ranked number four in the nation, and made the NJCAA’s national championship top-four playoff, similar to the College Football Playoff.

The Rangers ran into a buzzsaw at Iowa Western, the defending national champion, and lost, 47-7, but still, with the conference title and a win over every single conference rival – and an appearance in the NJCAA’ national title playoff – it was another great season.
