GIRLS ALL-DISTRICT! | Tatum’s Scott, Bradley share MVP honors; ETB all-district honorees across our coverage area

District 16-3A belonged once again to coach Patricia Nelson and the Tatum High School Lady Eagles, who didn’t lose a single game in the district schedule – not at home, nor on the road.
So respected was what Tatum did by the coaches in the district, who vote on the All-District Team, that they voted two Tatum players – Kamdyn Scott and Aundrea Bradley – as co-most valuable players.
That’s right: Bradley and Scott were named co-MVPs at the top of the 16-3A girls basketball All-District Team.
Nelson joined them, named the coach of the year.
And Scott was also recently voted to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ All-Region Team, on Class 3A-Region 2.
Other superlatives as part of the 16-3A girls all-district team: Gladewater’s Paytin Thompson and Troup’s Qhenja Jordan were named co-offensive players of the year, and Troup’s JaKeira Davis was named the defensive player of the year, and Arp’s Zariah Tatum and Sabine’s Sarah Roberts were named co-newcomers of the year.
Earning first-team all-district honors were Tatum’s Kaleigh Hooker, Rhianna Harris and Alecia Halton; Troup’s ZaQuirah Jordan and Paisley Skinner; Sabine’s Kaitlynn Sanchez; White Oak’s Bella Baker and Sophia Lacy; Gladewater’s Karlee Moses and Khera Lincoln; and West Rusk’s Kimora Pryor and Gabby Coleman.
Second-team all-district choices: Troup’s Hannah Cearley; Sabine’s Ella Dot Phillips, Autumn Rhodes and Madison Pierce; Gladewater’s Kizyah Miles and Kamila Turner; Arp’s Maddie Birdsong and Neci Potts; Tatum’s Patience Price; and West Rusk’s KeKe Murphy and Kamyah Lacy.
And honorable mention all-district 16-3A: For Sabine, Bailey Pierce and Jayda Lewis. For White Oak: Kalyn Hepler, Lauryn Rosado, Peyton Thompson, Carrington Watson, and Gentry Whittington. For Troup: Jacey Benge, Violet Eason, Mariah Humber, Kayla Manlick, Amari Shepard, and Bella Starkey; Gladewater’s Sarya Miles; West Rusk’s Summer LeJeune; Tatum’s Addyson Saunders; and Arp’s Randee Black, Landry Langley and Saniah Tatum.

District 16-4A
Kilgore placed two – Maurine Witt and Kassidy Oliver – as first-team all-district, and had one superlative win: Serenity Oliver was named the newcomer of the year!
Also for the Lady Bulldogs, Skye Hunt, Sole Hunt and Molly Quine were all named honorable mention all-district.
On the academic all-district team: Skye Hunt, Sole Hunt, Kylee Hunter, Kassidy Oliver, Molly Quine, and Maurine Witt.
Henderson’s Lady Lions placed three on the 16-4A second-team all-district: Kyeisha Clater, Anya Jackson and Kyla Tyeskey, all seniors.
Keyounie Alexander, Tyra Tyeskey, Kenidii Hogg and Danita Gonzalez were all named honorable mention all-district.
And academic all-district honors go to Victoria Phillips, Baleigh Deese and Rhenia Dernett.
For Gilmer, Markyah Jimmerson was named first-team all-district; Markayla Tate was named second-team all-district; and Cate Dodd, Brie Jones, Averie Mullinax and Kiylah Gordon were all named honorable mention all-district.
Academic all-district for the Lady Buckeyes: Jimmerson, Tate, Mar Munoz Parrilla, Lyunna Godfrey, Dodd, Jones, Mullinax, Katelyn Dudley and Brooke Collie.
District 22-2A
Overton’s girls placed a quartet on the District 22-2A All-District Team.
Sarah Emery, a senior, was named second-team all-district, as were junior Ashby Croswell and sophomore Makayla Edwards, and teammate Ashlynn Oates, a freshman, was named honorable mention all-district.
