Community pride is booming – no pun intended – in Kilgore, and ETBlitz.com is proud to be located here.

ETBlitz.com is based in the City of Stars, and now, the people who boost Kilgore are here on our site.

“We’re so glad to announce that the Kilgore Area Chamber of Commerce is now an ad partner with ETBlitz.com,” editor / publisher Mitch Lucas said Wednesday. “Chamber President and CEO Jill McCartney really has the city of Kilgore and the Kilgore area in her heart, and it shows in their work. We cannot stress enough about how important a good relationship with a chamber of commerce is for local businesses, and with the time of year we’re in – Thanksgiving and the Christmas and New Year’s holidays coming up – there’s so much going on. It’s one of the most exciting times of the year.”

In 2022, the Kilgore Area Chamber redefined its goals at a board of directors and staff meeting, in October, 2022, actually, and here they are:

  1. Advocate for business – Develop advocacy that supports business and grows the East Texas Coalition.
  2. Membership innovation and growth – Create a strong membership network including both small and industrial businesses.
  3. Cultivate talent – Talent that meets the needs of our employers.

Of course, the most immediate item on the chamber’s upcoming calendar is the annual Kilgore Christmas Parade, set for Tuesday, Dec. 3. It’s actually the 93rd annual parade, sponsored by CleanCut Roofing, CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health Systems, Starfish Ad Age, and Patterson Kilgore Chevrolet-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram.

This year’s theme is “Santa’s Workshop.”

The parade through downtown is that day, but deadline for entry is actually this Friday! To do so, e-mail Lisa Morgan at lmorgan@kilgorechamber.com or run by the chamber office at 1108 N. Kilgore Street and get an entry form.

The route for the parade will be its original route: starting on Main and Lawrence Streets, and ending on Kilgore and Kay Streets. The parade begins that night at 6:30 p.m.

But if you think the chamber is only active around the holidays – oh my gosh, think again.

The mission of the Kilgore Area Chamber is to promote a strong business and industrial environment in the Kilgore area – that’s actually atop the chamber’s Facebook page. But that is an all-encompassing goal, a commitment to promote shopping local, patronage of business in Kilgore and its surrounding area, and in particular, continuing to network business and business leaders here.

There’s actually a meeting on Monday, November 25, at 11:30 a.m. at The Back Porch, for Growth Group. The idea; connect, connect, connect. From the chamber’s Facebook page: “Showcase your business by joining us for a little lunchtime fun and some lively conversation at the Monday Growth Group.”

The goal of the Growth Group meetings, the chamber says, is to build personal and professional relationships with other members, while exchanging leads, business tips, growing prospect lists, and referrals.

If your business is not already a part of the Kilgore Area Chamber, or for anyone who’d like to know more about any aspect of it, particularly how to become a member, can e-mail Jill at jmccartney@kilgorechamber.com, or Lisa Morgan, member services manager, at lmorgan@kilgorechamber.com.
