Well, the rain, rain went away, but it left a mess with all the baseball and softball to make up, didn’t it?

Kilgore High School and Henderson High School were scheduled to play each other twice this week: once on Tuesday at Driller Park in Kilgore, then again on Friday at Henderson; both of them, of course, are District 17-4A games.

The make-up for Tuesday’s game at Driller is tonight, Thursday night, at 7 p.m., just varsity, no junior varsity. Friday’s games at Henderson will begin as scheduled with junior varsity at 4:30 p.m., then varsity afterward, unless we hear different. And if we do, we’ll let you guys know here on ETBlitz.com.

Here are the other arrangements we know about, after all the rain postponements.

  • Kilgore softball will make up Tuesday’s home rain-out against Spring Hill on Saturday, but will first play at Gilmer on Friday night, beginning with JV at 4:30, varsity to follow. Then on Saturday, Kilgore will host Spring Hill at Stream-Flo Field at 7 p.m., varsity only.
  • The area track meet involving Kilgore and Henderson athletes is being contested Thursday afternoon (like now, at this writing) at Spring Hill High School in Longview.
  • Overton Lady Mustang softball will play in Ore City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
  • Overton baseball will host Leverett’s Chapel on Friday, also at 7:30.
  • Before going to Overton on Friday, the LC Lions will play Beckville tonight at Panola College’s campus in Carthage because of field conditions. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start, and tickets are $5 each.
  • The District 21-2A and 22-2A meet, involving Overton athletes, will still be held at J.F. Whitaker Stadium in Cushing, beginning on Friday at 8:30 a.m. That event had originally been planned for Wednesday (yesterday), but, well, you know. Rain.
  • Sabine and Gladewater meet in baseball on Friday at Gladewater, beginning at 4 p.m. with the JV game, varsity to follow. Also, the two schools’ softball teams will play at Sabine on Friday night at 6 p.m., and then Sabine softball will play Saturday at New Diana, a 10 a.m. start.
  • Arp baseball will host Jefferson on Friday night at 6:15, and it’s A Catch With Dad night. All varsity dads or fill-ins for dads are invited to do so with varsity players, prior to the game.
  • Troup baseball will play Elysian Fields at Rusk High School on Thursday night (tonight) at 7 p.m.
  • Continuing on that note, Troup’s softball team will play Rusk at Rusk tonight, at 7 p.m. as well, but Troup will be the home team (as the game had originally been set as a Troup home game).
  • The area track meet at West Rusk was held as planned on Thursday, involving several schools in the ETBlitz.com coverage area (West Rusk, Sabine, Gladewater, White Oak, Tatum, Arp and Troup), and we’ll have all sorts of photos (by RONNIE SARTORS, so you know they’ll be great) and a story later tonight.
  • White Oak baseball will host New Diana on Friday at 4:30 p.m., beginning with the JV game. On Saturday, the Roughnecks are hosting their annual alumni game at 11 a.m.
  • White Oak softball will be home Friday, as well, hosting Daingerfield, begininng with JV at 4:30.
  • West Rusk and Tatum baseball (at West Rusk) and softball, also at West Rusk, are both still scheduled for Friday night.
  • Kilgore College softball is currently playing Trinity Valley as this story is being written, on Thursday afternoon in a doubleheader. The second game starts at 2 p.m.
