Kilgore College women's basketball has had a few good seasons since coach Evelyn Blalock retired (and unfortunately passed a few years back). But nothing like the 2024-25 season, when coach Stephanie Williams guided them to back-to-back-to-back wins in the Region XIV Conference Women's Tournament at Lee College, and into the NJCAA National Tournament. It was KC's best season in over 30 years.
Women's basketball is super-strong in this conference. Obviously, the three teams KC went through -- Trinity Valley, Tyler Junior College and Panola -- all come to mind. Can KC play on the success it had last season and get on a roll, and be the new big dog in the women's division of RXIV? I sort of believe they not only can, but will.
