Overton's Anna Perkins had a hit in the third inning that started a rally against Bowie. The Lady Mustangs won game one, lost game two, but won the third and deciding game three, and advanced to the UIL Class 2A Regional Quarterfinals this week against Cross Roads, a series to be played at Tyler Legacy. Below is where all four of the teams in the ETBlitz.com coverage area that are still playing will have games this week. (Photo by RONNIE SARTORS - SPORT SHOT PHOTOGRAPHY - ETBLITZ.COM)

Overton's Jayden Edwards smacks a pitch. Edwards, a multi-sport athlete, had two home runs, a single and 6 RBI in a 26-0 win over New Summerfield last week, and White Oak's Larkin Daniels (below, inset) had 29 strikeouts, adding to her career record for the Ladynecks and helping them advance to the Class 3A area round of the playoffs. For that, Daniels and Edwards are the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week for April 22-27. Kilgore players collect the 4A, Division I quarterfinals trophy after defeating Needville in New Caney. The UIL released its cutoff numbers this week, meaning many programs will have new destinations next fall; Kilgore won't be one of them, but could get some new district rivals, like Pine Tree, who will be coming from 5A, Division II down to 4A, Division I. Henderson, thought to be leaving 4A Division I for smaller 4A, looks to be staying put. (Photo by ALEX NABOR - ETBLITZ.COM)
