ARP’S MARTIN MOVING ON | AB signs with Central Christian College in Kansas (w/video)!

Arp High School’s baseball season is over, and the end of the school year is awfully close.
But the journey for now former Tigers standout AB Martin? It’s just beginning.
Martin was joined by family, friends, coaches, and faculty on Thursday afternoon at John Mills Parker Gymnasium on campus, as he signed his letter of intent. Martin, a multi-sport athlete at AHS, will continue his education and baseball career at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas.
AB’s given name is Abraxton, but “AB” is what he’s known as. And boy, is he known in Arp.

Martin, a cousin of Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, did just about everything at Arp but play on a tic-tac-toe team.
- In fishing, he was a regional qualifier this year, and finished 12th overall in the Texas High School Bass Association’s race for East Division Angler of the year.
- In basketball: first-team all-district center this most recent season, second-team all-district forward in 2023-24.
- He was honorable-mention all-district offensive line in 2023, but then moved all the way up, earning first-team all-district offensive line honors for coach Wes Schminkey’s Tigers in the 2024 season.
- And in baseball, his college sport of choice, AB finished up the 2025 season with a .316 batting average, a .403 on-base percentage, and a .88 fielding percentage. At the plate, he had four doubles, and 14 RBI. He had four stolen bases this season. Last year, he was second-team all-district at first base.

Central Christian went 16-29 in 2025. Their baseball and other athletic programs compete on the NAIA level, and in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
This past year, 19 members of the CCC roster were from Texas.
