AND THAT’S A WRAP IN OKC | PBR teams put on a show in Oklahoma City
EDITOR’S NOTE: ETBlitz.com’s Clayton Fletcher was traveling to the Oklahoma City area this week, and he did such a great job in Arlington in May at the PBR World Championships at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, we decided to send him to the PBR event at OKC this weekend. This is Clayton’s wrap-up from Sunday.
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Wildcatters’ Clay Guiton came up big for the Wildcatters on night three of the PBR’s Wildcatter Days and led them to a 2-1 start on the year
In matchup number one of night number three, the Kansas City Outlaws faced the Missouri Thunder. The Outlaws started the night off with a big ride from Koltin Hevalow on Wasted Nights for 85.5 points. Missouri answered back as Felipe Furlan put up 83.5 on Sorrel’s Pick but KC added on with Sandro Batista going for 88.5 on Dirty Bru.
The Thunder`s Briggs Madsen put up a big 89 points on Margin of error, but the Outlaws wouldn’t go away, as Brennon Eldred would ride Fierce’s Dirtnap for 86.25 points and give KC the win, 260.25 to 172.5.
Game two would see the Florida Freedom vs the Nashville Stampede in a tight battle with only three riders making to the eight seconds.
It stared off with Florida’s Elizmar Souza Jeremias on Ruthless for 85.75. The Stampede’s vet Silvano Alves would put up a 87.25 point ride on Skippy.
Some may say the Freedom only took John Crimber with the number one overall pick in the 2024 draft because his dad is the coach but on Sunday he showed everyone that he is more than just the coach’s kid, as he would put up a huge game-winning ride on the back of Stryker for 88 points, giving the Freedom the 173.75 to 87.25 win.
Game three saw the Carolina Cowboys against the New York Mavericks. The Cowboys came out of the gate with a ride from Cooper Davis on Buzz for 89.50 points. The Mavericks answered with a 82.5 point ride from Davi Henrique De Lima on Rowdy, but the Cowboys said, “not today,” as the seven time PRCA champ put the stamp on the game with 71.25 points on Red Demon, giving the Cowboys the win, 161.25 to 82.5.
The final match-up of the weekend was the Oklahoma Wildcatters and the Austin Gamblers.
The Gamblers really just count find anything to get started as they would go 0-5. Oklahoma would take that and run with it as Cort McFadden put up 66.5 on Strong Arm, and Guiton would ride Boujee Boy for 89.25.
The new Oklahoma team looked really strong this weekend and should use this weekend as a launching pad for the rest of the year.
After the first event of the season the teams Records look like this.
