In the next few weeks, there are going to be several announcements here on ETBlitz.com that are going to be beneficial – very beneficial – to sports fans here in East Texas.

Today’s is just the first.

We’re proud to announce that ETBlitz.com will be the home of coverage of both the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros in East Texas.

That means when you get up in the morning, and you want to know how the Rangers did on a West Coast swing, you can check ETBlitz.com and we’ll have the story, and the standings, and in all likelihood, a photo or two. If the Astros play an afternoon game and you’re at work, when the game is done, we’ll have the wrapup here on the site.

Tonight, in spite of the current weather as this story is being written, the Rangers are still scheduled to host the Arizona Diamondbacks at 7:05 p.m. Brandon Pfaadt is slated to get the start for the Diamondbacks, and Dane Dunning for the Rangers, who are 25-29 on the season to date. Major League Baseball’s defending World Series champions are in second place in the American League West.

Houston, meanwhile, is scheduled to play at Seattle tonight at 8:40 p.m. our time, Central time, with Hunter Brown starting on the mound for the Astros, and Luis Castillo for the Mariners. Houston is 24-30 so far this season, and Seattle, strange as it sounds, is 29-26 – and actually leads the West, above both Texas and Houston.

We’ll have reports of both games, if they get played, tonight here on ETBlitz.com.
