We don’t know if Ally Venable is a big baseball fan, but we do know she’ll be at the Houston Astros game Tuesday night.

Venable, the blues rock guitarist from Kilgore, will perform the National Anthem Tuesday night prior to the Astros’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The game is an Astros’ home game, at Minute Maid Park, on Tuesday, roughly at about 7:10 p.m. Central time.

She also has a show at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth on August 2.

Ally, now 25, began her career as a preteen singing in church, but it’s grown by leaps and bounds in the decade-plus since, as she heads up the Ally Venable Band, regularly tours the U.S. and Europe, and has had accolades like being named second on the top 15  Young Guns Making the Gibson Les Paul Cool Again by Guitar World Magazine.

She’s had five albums (No Glass Shoes (2016), Puppet Show (2018), Texas Honey (2019), Heart of Fire (2021), and last year’s Real Gone (2023), and appears under the Ruf Records label.

Ally is the daughter of Jack and Cindy Venable of Kilgore, where she still resides.

For more about Ally, including tickets to that show at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth on Aug. 2, go see her website right here: Ally Venable Band.

To purchase tickets online for Tuesday night’s game and go watch Ally perform the Anthem before it, go here: Pirates vs. Astros. The night Ally is performing is also Dollar Dog (hot dog) night, Andre Johnson Bobblehead night (for the first 10,000 fans), and Coca-Cola Ballpark Bundle night (your ticket, a hot dog, a soda and popcorn).

If you can’t make it to Houston but would like to try and catch the game, and maybe Ally’s Anthem performance, you can see every Astros game on MLB.TV, and on ESPN+, the ESPN streaming app, with a subscription.

Houston currently leads the American League West Division (55-49 on the season) and the Astros’ series against Pittsburgh begins Monday and is a three-gamer, through Wednesday. They’ll be off on Thursday and then host Tampa Bay beginning Friday night.
