Kilgore High School cornerback Jayden Sanders is getting a lot of attention right now.

Is that the understatement of the summer, or what?

Sanders, who will be a senior this coming season for the Bulldogs, is coming off a pair of spectacular seasons as a sophomore and junior at KHS, and was most recently, out of players on 128 teams, named as THE top defender – the most valuable defensive player – at the Texas State 7-on-7 Tournament a little more than a week ago.

Now, Sports Illustrated has picked up on one school’s desire to bring Sanders into the fold.

And it just so happens that school is the defending NCAA national champion.

Michigan, according to a report by Sports Illustrated right here (Recruiting: Michigan Football trending for 4-star 2025 cornerback Jayden Sanders (si.com)), has the inside track on getting Sanders. Now, is that true?

Really, only Jayden knows for sure on that, because he’s the one that makes the final decision. Right?

The article even quotes ol’ Gabe Brooks, the former Longview News-Journal writer, now with 247 Sports, about Jayden. Brooks is a friend of ETBlitz.com.

For the record, 247 lists Jayden as 6-foot-2, 172 pounds, a four-star, and that he has offers from Michigan, Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU (the alma mater of his father, Nick Sanders), Texas Tech, Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, SMU, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, North Texas, Northwestern, UTEP, UT-SA, Texas State, Arkansas State, and Tulsa.

Kilgore, expected to make large noise once again in the race to be the king of the state in Class 4A, kicks off the season on Friday night, Aug. 30 on the road at Carthage. ETBlitz.com will be there, beginning with our live pregame show about an hour before kickoff.
