District 22-2A
In District 22-2A, Overton’s boys knocked off Douglass, who was seemingly on top for quite some time, including a 40-plus-game district winning streak – stopped by the Mustangs.
As such, Overton pretty much swept all-district superlative honors.
Overton’s Bryce Still was named the district’s overall most valuable player, and teammate Rylan Holleman was named the offensive MVP. Jayden Edwards was named defensive MVP, and coach Kerry McConnell and coach C.J. Grimmett were named the district’s coaching staff of the year!
Christian Hall and Joey Zalman were both named 22-2A first-team all-district; Brody Brown and Josh Cota were named second-team all-district; and Landon Hill and Ivan Ransom were both named honorable mention.
Maybe most importantly, Brown, Cota, Edwards, Hill, Holleman, Still and Zalman were all named academic all-district.
