A SPECIAL YEAR FOR HONEYBEARS | Gladewater’s drill team has two anniversaries to celebrate!
When the 2024-25 football season kicks off, it’ll mark a pair of special anniversaries for Gladewater HoneyBears drill team.
It’ll be the 35th year for director Diane Clark, just a monumental milestone, and the 45th year, period, for the HoneyBears, one of East Texas’ dance institutions.
Let’s meet the team.
The officers for the ’24-25 school year – and it’s the year, not the football season; these girls, like Kilgore, like Henderson, Tatum, Sabine and all the other dance lines, work all season long – are Captain Ava Langford, First Lieutenant Ella Williams, Lieutenant Ally Albright, Lieutenant Trentley Gamel, Lieutenant Melanie Perez, and Alternate Lieutenant Tatiana Gunder.
And the line, in alphabetical order: Jayden Aills, Vivian Bray, Abigail Carney, McKensey Cuellar, Angel Davis, Ameyah Dotson, Rilynn Duren, Jazmin Estrada, Kylie Faye, Lillian Garriott, Olivia Hawley, Emily Head, Kenlee Herrelson, Nobellee Humphrey, Bryannah Jackson, Kailey Kistler, Shayla Lara, Amiyah Minter, Grace Mooney, Hayden Mumphrey, Alicia Perez, Brisa Perez, Giselle Perez, Susy Perez, Esmeralda Rojas, Lilia Sanchez, Emma Williams, Brooklyn Yount and Kendal Yount.
The social officers for this year are Amiyah Minter, Brooklyn Yount, Lily Garriott, Olivia Hawley, and Kailey Kistler.
As with the other drill teams in the ETBlitz.com coverage area, ETBlitz.com plans to put video of the HoneyBears’ performance each Friday on the website, if not after the games on Friday night, then on Saturday mornings. We are also looking for sponsors for their weekly video appearances on the site.
If you would like to help ETBlitz.com with video of the HoneyBears’ halftime performance this season, or if you’d like to be a sponsor, e-mail Mitch Lucas at mlucas@etblitz.com.
