AREA TRACK THIS WEEK! | Here are all the qualifiers, when & where they’ll compete, all you need to know

Area track and field meets are this week, which means those who make it out of the area meets move on to regionals – one step away from the University Interscholastic League’s State Track & Field Meet.

Leverett’s Chapel and Overton athletes both compete at area meets on Wednesday.

LC track and field athletes are headed to Miller Grove for area, then to Waco for the 1A-Region III meet on April 18-19. The area meet will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the 3200 meter run and field events.

Overton athletes that have competed in District 22-2A will head to the area on Wednesday at Hawkins; the 3200 meter run will begin at 9 a.m., and field events at 10 a.m. Regionals for Overton is scheduled for April 18 at Wildcat Stadium in Palestine, the 2A-Region III meet.

For District 16-4A, which includes ETBlitz.com area programs Kilgore, Henderson and Gilmer, the area meet will be in Lindale on Thursday. Regional qualifiers will head to Commerce on April 18-19 for the 4A-Region II meet.

For District 16-3A, the area track meet will be in Eustace on Thursday, and that’s for Arp, Gladewater, Sabine, Tatum, Troup, West Rusk, and White Oak. Those advancing to regionals will be headed to Whitehouse on April 18-19 for the 3A, Region II meet.

The UIL State Track & Field Championships, of course, are May 1, 2 and 3 at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin.
