WHATABURGER / ETBLITZ.COM PLAYERS OF THE WEEK! | Drumroll, please… Aw, heck; it’s Kilgore’s Reyes and Sabine’s Anguiano
In high school sports, things change every day, much less every week.
And since last week, soccer in East Texas has changed. Kilgore’s boys were upset by Center on Monday, basketball ended for both Kilgore’s boys and Sabine’s girls in recent days, and baseball began its regular season.
One thing you can always count on, though, is that there WILL be performances in the ETBlitz.com coverage area worthy of the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Players of the Week. And we have those again today, for the week of Feb. 12-16, last week.
Senior Adan Reyes scored three goals against Tatum for Kilgore High School’s boys soccer team, helping the Bulldogs to a road win last week, and for that performance, Adan is the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Boys Player of the Week, his first time to win the honor. And there’s still plenty of time left in the season for another win or two!
And for the Whataburger / ETBlitz.com Girls Player of the Week, we don’t have one performance: we honor consistency. Our winner for last week is Sabine High School girls goalkeeper Carol Anguiano, who soared passed the 100-save mark and over 123 saves for coach Heidi Hagan’s Lady Cardinals.
Here at ETBlitz.com, we don’t take these awards lightly – we weigh performances in every single sport over the last week, for male and female athletes, and consider every single school in our coverage area. That’s Kilgore High School, Henderson High, Sabine, West Rusk, Tatum, Gladewater, Arp, Troup, Overton, White Oak, Leverett’s Chapel, and also Kilgore College.
