TSWA ALL-STATE BASEBALL TEAMS RELEASED | Several players from ETB-area programs honored

It’s been a minute since the 2025 high school baseball season ended, but the Blue Bell / Texas Sportswriters Association (TSWA)’s all-state teams, divided by classification, are finally out, and there are a handful of players from schools in the ETBlitz.com coverage area that made what we like to call “the real” all-state team.
In 2A, Overton High School reached the 2A-Division II state championship game, losing there to eventual back-to-back state champ Collinsville.
But Overton’s Rylan Holleman was named to the TSWA 2A second team, as a catcher, and Beckville’s Aiden Brantley was named second-team all-state, as well, as a pitcher.
In addition, Overton’s Jayden Edwards was named third-team all-state as an outfielder, and teammate Braxton Harper, at first base, was named an honorable mention on the 2A squad.
Holleman helped the Mustangs to the 2A title game with eight home runs, nine doubles, and 42 RBI. He scored 33 runs and batted .444. And he spent a lot of time as part of the battery for the Mustangs: he pitched a lot, too, rolling up a 10-1 record.
Edwards batted .321 and had two home runs (both inside-the-park!), 10 doubles, 25 RBI, and scored 18 runs.
Brantley had an 11-3 record for the Bearcats in 2025, to go with 134 strikeouts in 84 1/3 innings. He finished the season with a 0.83 ERA. He also batted .392 with 13 doubles and had 19 RBI.
Centerville’s Demond Denman was the 2A coach of the year and 2A’s player of the year was Harleton’s Carson Wallace.
As a part of the 4A team, Carthage’s Cade Moore, a pitcher, and outfielder Cale Preston, both made the cut, as honorable mentions.
Moore, Preston and the Bulldogs battled with eventual state champion Spring Hill, Gilmer, Kilgore and Henderson in district play. Moore had a 10-1 record in 2025, as well as an ERA of 1.39, with 46 strikeouts. He pitched 70 1/3 innings. Preston hit .391 and had three triples, three doubles, and also had 28 RBI and scored 31 runs.
The 4A player of the year honors were shared by Canyon Lake’s Carter Williams and Corpus Christi Calallen’s Chase Lynch. Coach of the year was also shared between Spring Hill’s Garrett Methvin and Calallen’s Steve Chapman.
Arp High School’s Will Sanford made the list on the Class 3A team as designated hitter, on the third team, and Tatum catcher Jaxen Prince joined him, as honorable mention on the 3A squad.
Sanford batted .387 and had four home runs, a triple seven doubles, 28 RBI and scored 18 runs.
Prince had a .371 average and had three triples, seven doubles, 27 RBI, and came across the plate 22 times.
The 3A player of the year was Wall’s Greg Reichenau, pitcher. Reichenau went unbeaten, 14-0, with a 0.53 ERA (WOW). He pitched 76 innings in ’25, notching 101 strikeouts. He only allowed one hit in a state championship win over Thrall. And his coach, Jeremy Gordon, was also named 3A’s coach of the year.
TSWA all-state honors are voted on by sportswriters from all over the state, and coaches are allowed to nominate players.
