OVERTON-BURTON SERIES SET | At Sam Houston State, starts Wednesday

Overton High School baseball puts on their hardhats and goes to work when they take the diamond.

Now, they know where the next work site will be.

Coach Chris Cook and the Mustangs will face Burton in the UIL Class 2A, Division II state semifinals – one series win away from playing for a state championship.

The Overton-Burton matchup will be a best-of-three-game series that begins Wednesday, and all games will be at Sam Houston State University at Huntsville.

Game one will be Wednesday at 6 p.m., and Burton will be the home team.

Game two will be Thursday at 4 p.m. – Overton will be home. And game three, if it’s needed, will be 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.

Tickets will be $10 each for adults, $8 each for students, and can be purchased at the gate with credit or debit cards.

The winner advances to the UIL 2A-DII state title game, which will be Thursday, June 5, at 9 a.m. at Dell Diamond, the first of several state championship games that week.
